The MPD226 is a MIDI-USB Pad Controller built with 16 pressure- and velocity sensitive Thick Fat MPC pads used to trigger drum hits and other samples in the software ensuring a responsive user experience. These pads are also made backlit for visual feedback and color-coding and users are allowed to switch up between 4 pad banks in order to control up to 64 samples. The MPD226’s control set consists of 4 knobs, 4 faders and 4 buttons having a total of 36 assignable controls via 3 banks compared to the previous MPD26 with only 12 controls. The controller also includes some of the classic MPC features such as Full-Level button, Note-Repeat button, Tap-Tempo button and so on. It is also compatible with iOS devices using the Camera Connection kit (sold separately) and supports plug-and-play connectivity with Mac and PC not requiring installation of any drivers. Some of the included software are Akai Pro MPC Essentials, Ableton Live Lite, Software Preset, etc.
