If you're a podcaster, voice-over artist, singer, or instrumentalist looking for a quality studio microphone that won't break the bank, Aston is confident their Element is the mic for you. You see, the mic was developed with your help: Aston conducted open-submission blind listening tests with the public at large until the company settled on the right materials and technologies, giving you a studio-quality sound tailored for vocals and acoustic instruments, whether they're miked in the studio or at home.
Features:
Designed with Your Help: The Aston Element was developed in conjunction with the musicians and producers who would ultimately be using it. More than 4000 people signed-up to participate in a series of blind listening tests, the results of which guided the Aston engineers in modifying the prototypes, until Element was outperforming not only direct rival mics but some far costlier options too.
Ridyon Capsule: The Ridyon capsule is an active moving-coil design, similar to a dynamic or ribbon in principle, but able to achieve a sound and performance more akin to a condenser. Utilizing 48V phantom power, the mic's lightweight diaphragm delivers the sensitivity of a condenser, alongside the punchy bass and rejection capability of a dynamic mic as well as the open and natural sound of a ribbon. You get the best of all three, with none of the drawbacks.
Cardioid Polar Pattern: The microphone makes use of a directional cardioid polar pattern to minimize off-axis sound. This polar pattern naturally, yet effectively tamps down room tone and focuses the audio capture on what's directly in front of the mic.
Included Pop Filter: Included in the Element bundle is a proprietary magnetic pop filter which attaches in seconds. This pop filter keeps virtually all plosives and esses at bay. Aston has shielded the magnets from the capsule so the sound remains free of artifacts.
