BEAUTIFULLY INTUITIVE

One of our first projects when establishing Ruark Audio was to design an easy to use control system. The result is our trademark RotoDial controller. With the introduction of R1 Mk3 we made our RotoDial controller even better and now whether you own R1, R2, R4 or even R7 you will intuitively know how to use each due to the similarity of their operation.

GREAT CONNECTIVITY

Voice control and streaming from the likes of Amazon and Google are exciting new technologies, but knowing which one is right for you and which will stand the test of time can be a daunting decision. This is a key reason why all our products incorporate Bluetooth and additional inputs, so new technology devices can easily be connected and enjoyed with our products class leading sound and when technology changes (which it is bound to) then it is very easy for you to upgrade as required.

BACKPACK II

Combine R1 with our optional BackPack II and you will be able to enjoy R1 wherever mains power is not available from the bathroom to the great outdoors. Placing batteries inside takes valuable speaker capacity, but BackPack II allows R1 to retain its rich mains powered performance with the benefit of complete portability.

A total evolution of the original, BackPack II attaches seamlessly to R1 and once fitted can be left permanently in place as it charges automatically whenever connected to a mains power supply. A full charge will provide up to twelve hours of mains free listening depending on volume.

BEST RADIO PERFORMANCE

Radio performance on DAB and FM is first class and with DAB+ technology also built in, R1 can be used in countries such as Australia, Denmark, France, Germany and Norway where this updated system is now being used. DAB+ also ensures that R1 is future-ready for the implementation of this digital radio technology in the UK.

R1 is regarded as one of the best sounding radios you can buy, but that’s because we understand the importance of enclosure and drive unit design to create great sound. In every way R1 has been developed like a high fidelity speaker crafted from materials chosen for their excellent acoustic properties and our custom full range drive unit designed for superb dynamics and a smooth natural frequency response.

WIRELESS BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY

With a quality Bluetooth receiver built in, you can wirelessly stream your music, internet radio and other services such as Spotify from your smartphone or computer direct to R1. R1 also remembers up to seven previous Bluetooth connections and allows users to conveniently switch between them. Most importantly sound quality over Bluetooth with R1 you will find sublime.

R1 is crafted from quality materials which we know from our years spent designing High-Fidelity loudspeakers, provide the best sound, but aesthetically the combination of natural hand finished wood and precise cool man-made materials have the added benefit of making our products feel as good to touch as they are to see and hear.

BEDSIDE COMPANION

R1 makes a glorious bedside clock radio and with comprehensive dual alarms you’ll be woken from your slumbers with beautiful natural sound exactly when you want. R1 also has adjustable sleep and snooze timers so you can doze off and snooze with its soothing sound.

CONNECT AND CHARGE

On the rear of R1 we’ve provided a headphone output and a switchable input so other audio devices can be connected and enjoyed with R1’s sonorous sound. R1 also features a USB charge port designed to charge Smartphones and other similar devices. This is particularly useful when using R1 as a bedside radio, so your phone is charged and ready for when you wake.
