The FiiO M7 is a high-resolution lossless audio player and is the first player to use the Samsung Exynos 7270 system on chip. The Exynos 7270 has two ARM Cortex A53 cores that use less power, enhancing the battery life – in standby, the device can last for up to 40 days while having a 20 hour play time when full charged. Along with power management, the storage and memory chips are all crammed together with the ARM cores into a single smaller package. With the extra space, there is better cooling and room for a bigger battery. The M7 is also the first DAP to have a 6-layer multi-stage HDI PCB which is also used in smartphones.
A Samsung Bluetooth 4.2 chip is utilised by the M7 that supports aptX-HD audio codec that allows for high fidelity music without wires. Sony’s LDAC wireless audio codec is also supported which transmits three times the data. Additionaly, the M7 is also a certified as Hi-Res Audio.
